Raised in Sweden, Magnus spent his early career in Spain and the UK in finance for global tech startups. After moving to the United States in 2004, he discovered an interest in real estate while doing commercial property underwriting in Miami. More than fifteen years later, he has become an expert helping buyers, sellers, and investors in South Florida’s commercial and residential real estate markets, as well as an E&V Private Office Advisor. He speaks fluent Swedish and some Spanish, and when not working, can be found outdoors training for triathlon events, or relaxing with his wife and young son, Max.
1.
Paul & Vince: What are the three places a first time visitor to your city should see?
Magnus: There are so many great places in and around Miami, but I would definitely take them to see: 1) the beautiful, long, white stretches of Miami Beach; 2) the Wynwoodneighborhood and the Design District, both of which are packed with galleries, street art, and festivals; and 3) the Florida Keys or Everglades National Park, which are spectacularly wild and beautiful but not far from the city.
Paul & Vince: That was actually five places, but ok.
2.
Paul & Vince: What are your three most prized possessions and why?
Magnus: Since I cannot possess my family, I would have to start with my camera equipment. I love the art of photography and enjoy documenting life in pictures. Second, would be my bikes which help me to relax, feel energized and stay fit. Third, would be an antique and detailed puppet horse in wood from Burma. It was very hard to come by and extremely rare.
Paul & Vince: Nice!
3.
Paul & Vince: What do you most like about working at E&V and why?
Magnus: I love the luxury feel of the brand and its consistency. I also like the true collaboration between shops and friendships that can develop between advisors.
Paul & Vince: Agreed.
4.
Paul & Vince: What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received and who gave it toyou?
Magnus: My first grade teacher told me that I could be or do anything I wanted, not constrain myself, work hard, never give up. Hence, I have never been bored. I love and obsess over everything I do.
Paul & Vince: Yes! Anyone who has met you, Magnus, can see that is true.
…and one more, Just For Fun
Paul & Vince: Here’s your fun question, Magnus, which is just right for the brand New Year: When you were growing up, what kinds of daily life situations did you assume would be normal by the “far off” year of 2020, but now that we’re here, they still are not?
Magnus: The Space Age. I definitely thought we’d be way more advanced at this point in the mainstream, but we haven’t really done much more than land on the moon and send a few space shuttles. In the Jetsons cartoons I watched as a kid, their everyday Space Age had flying bubble cars, a Rosie the Robot housekeeper, personal jetpacks, salt and pepper robots at your table, and even high-rise buildings that could elevate in bad weather!
Paul & Vince: True, and that last one might be useful someday in Florida!
Magnus: LOL.
