Hampton Bays is a large East End community created in the early twentieth century by merging 11 smaller villages. As the name implies, the hamlet has a lot of waterfront space — it juts out between the Peconic and Shinnecock bays, has plenty of beach access along the Atlantic, and hosts dozens of tidal creeks. Because of the many residents whose livelihoods revolve around the water, it is the most populous Hamptons community year-round. Residents and visitors alike enjoy its lively downtown and broad range of entertainment options. 

As the second busiest fishing port in the state after Montauk, you can expect world-class seafood from any local restaurant. The pristine beaches and other waterways make it perfect for swimming, kayaking, sailing, fishing, and pretty much any other water sport you can think of.
