This 131 acres (325 hectares) stud farm and its 6,889 ft² (640 m²) chateau are located in the Orne and Calvados region of Normandy, France, about one hour from Deauville. The property consists of parkland with trees, two renovated luxury residences 5,640 ft² (524 m²) and 1,453 ft² (35 m²) respectively, and twenty-two additional dwellings, including sixteen houses for staff.
The horse farm includes numerous paddocks and grasslands, more than 200 boxes spread over a dozen barns, a foaling barn, a covering/breeding shed, a training track, and offices. Founded in 1903, it passed into the hands of Marcel Boussac and Stavros Niarchos, two of the greatest breeders/owners in Europe, and has seen the birth of some of the world’s most prestigious racehorses.
Featuring a year-round mild climate, the location offers many opportunities for outdoor activities. The nearby town of Argentan features historic buildings, medieval ruins, museums, restaurants, and markets offering regional food specialties like Camembert cheese. Fashionable resort, Deauville, or bustling port city, Le Havre, can each be reached in about an hour and Paris is just two hours away.
